Paul,
The TX EQ is kind of an audio shaper. Lyle can describe it better than I.
But I find I can taylor the audio characteristics as desired. Cutting the
audio bands is always better than boosting. We also have a feature on our
list to have a seperate TX EQ for each mic input (FP and RP).
You should be able to save a configuration file with the downloader utility
for whatever setup you desire. I've not tried this with different EQ
settings but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Subject: [Elecraft] TX EQ
Well, I joined the waiting group of future K3 owners on December 26 and
only wish I had ordered earlier.
I am interested in learning more about the K3s TX EQ. I have been using
The W2IHY 8 Band EQ and EQplus with an FT-1000MP and have been very pleased
with both products. In fact I did beta testing for Julius on these products.
At this point are there any K3 users who have used both the K3 & W2IHY EQs
that could make any comments or comparisons?
Is there a way to lock in certain TX EQ settings, then make a selection of
those particular settings
i.e. settings for DX, versus settings for rag
chewing. Maybe there is a way to save these particular elections in memory.
This would sure be a handy item. If this is not currently available on the
K3, maybe it could be made available through a firmware change?....73 de
