When RIT is ON, it is applied to the VFO A display. You can also see 
the amount of offset as you turn the RIT control (+/- 9.99, shown on 
the VFO B display). You can check the amount of offset without 
adjusting the control by holding the DISP OFS switch (below XIT).

RIT steps can be set to 1 Hz, 10 Hz, or 50 Hz by holding the RATE 
switch (below RIT).

If you have RIT or XIT ON, and the offset control is not set at dead 
center, the yellow LEDs will tell you whether you have a negative or 
positive offset.

When RIT and XIT are both off, the offset control advances VFO A in 
large steps, defined by the operator on a per-mode basis (e.g. 2.5 kHz 
for SSB, 5/9/10 kHz for AM, etc.).
