My guess is that both LP-Rotor and TRX are trying to display error 
messages, and the error you see is telling you that the second one can't 
be opened while the first one is already displayed (even if you can't 
see it). That leads me to believe that both programs see a problem with 
the serial port, and are both trying to report it.

I can send you a version what doesn't display the error, and let TRX 
report it, but the underlying error will still be there.
