That's what I use on my K2 and my K2 has the original jack from when it was
built in 2000.

My adapter has a right-angle plug that goes into the K2, which serves to
keep it out of my way when reaching for the Audio Gain as well as preventing
side-force caused by bumping the plug. A short length of flexible wire
connects to a 1/4 in in-line stereo jack for my phones.

I can't say the adapter is responsible for my not having had any trouble
with the phones jack, but it sure seemed like a good idea. I use phones on
my K2 a lot so that jack has been exercised by inserting and removing a plug
many hundreds of times by now.

I wonder how many headphone jack failures are the result of hitting the
headphone plug when the AF Gain control is rotated - the two are quite
close, and yes that jack will not tolerate a lot of lateral motion before
failing.

I just though of a 'cure', wire up a short extension with flexible wire (buy
a short headphone extension cord and cut about 4 inches from the jack end),
and then wire a right angle 3.5mm plug (such as Mouser 171-3308-EX) to the
end that will plug into the K2.
