[Elecraft] K2 Speaker not muting?

Tom,

Glad to hear the K2 is working good for you otherwise.

The normal problem is the other way around, the speaker does not come on
after removing the headset plug.

Although it could be that the headphone jack contact had failed to open, I
would consider that to be rare.  You may want to check to see if any
conducting foreign object has become lodged below the headphone jack - if
you don't find anything present, then replace the headphone jack.

As a 'work-around', you can plug a spare headphone plug (or any other 3.5mm
object) into the external speaker jack on the back - that will silence the
speaker and still allow the headphones to work.
