  I didn't think of this until after I had mounted several of them, so I'm glad they can be mounted right down to the board.

The ratings are conservative, so they can be mounted right down on the
board, but there is no harm in leaving a small gap - EXCEPT for the one
mounted on the bottom of the board - that one must go right down to the
board for physical clearance reasons.
