Hi Paul:

Another strategy would be to use a Wireman 1171 BNC-F to UHF-M connector 
and a Wireman 801 dipole center. (Using a pair of Wireman 800 thimbles with 
the 801 is highly recommended.)

That configuration plus a bit of weatherproofing (extensively discussed by 
this group in the past) of the connectors will give you an antenna that 
will last for years.
