[Elecraft] K2 ser# registry?

When I ordered my AtoB and KAF2 upgrades Elecraft asked me for my Serial #...probably to determine if I really needed the AtoB upgrade kit.   But it led me to wonder if there is a list somewhere of K2 serial #'s crossreferenced to the callsigns of K2 users?

I'd like to know how many are in the field being used.   Who has more than one?   You could trace the pedigree of your K2 as the list aged.

My only hands-on experience with a K2 prior to buying one was my visit to ARRL (good sales move Elecraft!...or was that donation from a private individual?).

If I had a list of users nearby who I could have asked for a demo I would have been convinced to buy one even sooner!   Clearly this is a word of mouth radio.  I used to look at the K2 ad in QST and think "Toy Radio" and turn the page!   Boy...was I ever wrong!
