Parts are not supplied for 80 M, if you do get the right crystal etc you
cannot have a second band with 80, so you wind up with a three band radio.
Best solution may be to get a two band board in addition to the 4 band one,
then put 80 and what other band you want on it. You could then swap boards
as needed and still have maximum band coverage. On of the strengths of the
AT Sprint II is that it does cover 80 M but of course is a specialized radio
You could also consider getting a single band radio for just 80, Small
Wonder Labs has a couple good ones.

Subject: [Elecraft] K1 Progress
Well - I am awaiting the arrival of my 4 band filter board for my K1 (It was
not in the kit when I got it) - However - Richard was very nice and they are
sending me out one via Priority Mail - Hopefully it will be here on Tuesday
- I think I will be ready for it by then....
Does anyone know if the 4 band module can be setup for 80 meters?
I have built the Front Panel board and am getting ready to put it into the
Face Plate. I am really enjoying this kit - It is really Top Notch - I built
many HeathKit Rigs and this far exceeds the quality of any kits I have ever
built. Lots of challenges but very clear and accurate docs.
I am almost done with the front panel and I find myself wandering the
Elecraft website looking at the K2 and accessories already! - I am hooked!
Thanks again to everyone at Elecraft for a wonderful experience!
73 - and I hope everyone has a good Memorial Day.
JB
Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud.
After a while, you realize the pig is enjoying it.
