[Elecraft] My K2 (s/n 678) is hearing and transmitting again!

First I followed many of the instructions in the troubleshooting
sections of the manual using a borrowed probe (TNX Gene N3HG!), but
after a while I found that the red LED on the KDSP2 board would not go
out after 1-2 seconds.  Actually, it stayed on and stayed on. I began to
smell something acrid, so I turned off the rig.  I replaced the KDSP2
unit with my old AF filter, and the rig sprang back to life again.  I
made about 15 contacts in the WPX CW contest to make sure everything was
OK, and the contacts were fine.

I have read the troubleshooting guide in the back of the manual for the
KDSP2 unit, and I checked out the little I could there.  There's not too
much I check out as leaving the unit turned on to check out KDSP2 U1 was
obviously heating up something there. I did check to see that all the
pins were correctly mated in their sockets, and they were--and had been
for months.

I'm VERY happy to get my rig up and running again. That is so good!

But now I can't use my KDSP2, and I don't know where to turn for help.
Should I contact Lyle Johnson?
