[Elecraft] KX1 ATU and PO

I got similar power readings with R1 & R2 adjusted per the manual: 6W on 40m
& 20m and 6.3W on 30m, on a 50 ohm dummy load. after running it on a test
bench real power was barely over 3W, so I re adjusted the 2 pots R1 R2 to
agree with the bench reading. I do not know however, what the bench accuracy
is at this level. I built a diode detector to measure RF voltage and the
value did correspond to the test bench.

Ed -

Congrats on getting 666 on the air! Must have gone more smoothly than could
have been expected based on the serial number alone hi.

The very fast relay switching is normal with the auto-tuners I am
experienced with (KX1 and LDG Z100). They try a given LC combination just
long enough to sample the SWR then move on to the next and so on.

I am seeing the same kinds of power readings on my KX1. It seems like in
most cases the better the match the higher the reported power output. It has
made me decide that I do want to calibrate the power reading on the ATU
though since I didn't think that 6.3W was realistic.

I have completed and installed the ATU on my KX1. It seems to work,
although I have a question or two. It seems as if the search for a match
takes place rather fast, that is, it switches the different L's and C's out
quickly so that the relays sound like they are buzzing. Is that normal?
Second, I seem to have a lot of power out on 40 (> 6W) and less power on 20M
(~3W). 30M is around 5.5W. IS this normal? I tried adjusting L2 but it
didn't seem to make a significant difference in PO.
