Dave,

What a smart idea using a socket set up with the microphone jumpers for the 
particular configuration needed. Also keeps the chances of damage to the K2 
assembly to a minimum.

Kenwood microphones present no problems as 2 pin computer jumper blocks can 
be used throughout. I use JRC equipment which has similar microphone pin outs 
to Yaesu. Providing links on the front panel P1 was a fiddly job. Ended up 
using pin jumper blocks for the two that coincided and wire wrapping all the 
others. Was wishing at the time that I still had the small teflon coated wire with 
the small size wire wrapping tool we used on the old Lenkurt analog microwave 
card straps, but all long gone.
