Hello all,
I will again operate a special event station from the Pagoda atop of Mt.
Penn overlooking
the City of Reading, PA at 1100 feet. The building is a Japanese Pagoda
Building at the end of Skyline Drive
atop of Mt. Penn. I will operate SSB on 40m and 20M. Look for me on
the air this Saturday 5/29 from 11am EDT
until 2pm EDT.
Anyone who contacts me is eligible for a Bronze Nomad Award. This is a
beautiful award on photo paper and looks very nice on the wall! For
more info about the Nomad Award Program, go to www.wa3wsj .com and click
on events. Remember one dollar will
go to a deserving amateur to help him or her out in college with each
Nomad Award sent out.
This isn't a lighthouse, but many aircraft use this building as a
navigation aid to the Reading Airport because it is rather bright
with all the neon lights on at night! I have a picture of it on my
website. One last item, I will send out a special qsl card to all I work
while I'm operating at the Pagoda. It has a night picture of the Pagoda
on it with all it's lights on. The picture was taken by photographer Jim
Culter and is rather beautiful. Just send me an SASE and don't forget
about your Bronze Nomad too!
