I stand corrected guys.. And I'll quit answering hobby e-mails between phone
calls at work <G> But I do sincerely appreciate the correction.

One of the nice things about this reflector is that when I go brain dead
someone whacks me up da' side o' da' head and wakes me up - in a nice way!

I don't think that is correct. Consider an equal cross sectional area in a
round wire and flat strap. Now flatten that strap so that the width
approaches zero. The surface area or circumference goes to infinity. A
round conductor is actually the opposite. It has the least amount of
surface area (circumference) of any shape.

A sphere has the *least* surface area for a give volume.
Take a unit radius sphere. It's got a volume of 4/3*pi (say four in round
numbers), and a surface area of 4*pi (say 12).
Now flatten it into a wide, short cylinder 0.1 units high.
Now to keep the same volume, it has a radius of over 3.5 units,
and so a surface area of almost 80 units. (two ends plus a
tiny strip round the middle).
