I'm try to troubleshoot my Hi Cur problem.. (0.5A current drain on receive)
I've checked my 8V Receive line at the anode of D6. This reads 8.0V, but
when I go into TX it drops to 0.59V.. Should it drop to 0V ??
I also checked my 8V Transmit line at the junction of C109 and RFC1. This
was 8V on TX, but drops to 0V on Receive.
Does this suggest my problem could be the 8VR line ??

David you can rest assured the 8R and 8T are working just fine. 8R supplies
voltage to several reciever stages during recieve and is turned off during
transmit, the same thing applies to 8T which supplies voltage to the
transmitter circuits during transmit. 8R doesn't go all the way to 0V as it
has no pull down resistor like 8T. FYI my K2 which has KSB2, KNB2, KDSP2
draws about .43A on recieve. Usually we will find a very fine hair line of
solder somewhere that may be a little to close to another pad or component.
I had one that would completely kill the receiver right in the middle of a
contact. I hunted that little devil for a week, but there it was in the TR
switch area.
Could also be a wrong component also... I did that too with one of the caps,
I swith a 420pf and a 470pf. Oh well, I am old and don't see well...Hi!
Good Luck with your K2
