[Elecraft] KXPD1 for Non-Iambic users

I, too, learned to use a keyer with a converted Vibroplex bug simulating
a single-lever paddle. After a while, though, I acquired a Bencher
dual-lever paddle and found it pretty easy to use ... but I used it as
if it were single-lever, only touching one side at a time. This went on
for years even though I could have been using squeeze (iambic) keying. I
knew I should be able to send faster if I learned the reduced-motion
iambic method of keying, so finally I decided that the best way to learn
it would be one letter at a time. I started with the easiest letters Q
and Y, learning to leave my fingers on the dah lever while tapping the
dit lever to insert one dit. K and C weren't much harder and L, period
and AR were only a little worse. The hardest were R and F and I still
sometimes inject an extra finger motion on them. The rest of the
characters are essentially the same in single- and dual-lever sending,
so I was done. It wasn't so bad after all! Try it.
