Ham radio at its best Lloyd!

Forget the contests, pileups at DX-peditions and just enjoy a late-night
chat with another key-jockey half way 'round the world... Or in the next
state.

Reminds me of my bachelor days when I learned how to separate my laundry
before heading off to the laundromat:

1- Clothes that must be washed.

2- Clothes that should be washed.

3- Clothes to wash if there's enough change.

F I was tired, there were thunder boomers moving
through, and while reading Tom Sawyer to my children
("Like it? Well I don't see why I oughtn't to like
it. Does a boy get a chance to whitewash a fence
every day?") I got the idea of trying out some mattress-portable with an
indoor aerial, or antler, as it's known in some circles.

  ...I worked P4/LY2TA, "5NN"
both ways <g>, and then worked Art, KZ5D, in LA, who
gave me a whopping 579, receiving in turn a 589.

After that, I listened to some SSB QSOs, a
noveltyfor me. Do these chaps often refer to
themselves as "we?" Do they have a mouse in their
pockets? Why are all their conversations so boring,
while every CW QSO is so fascinating? Another of
life's mysteries, I suppose.

Kixie's tucked away, now, as am I, and tomorrow's
another day.

    'Night.
