G'day,

Take a look in the literature for information on "Rhombic" and "Vee-Beam"
antennas as well, especially Rhombics which are diamond-shaped horizontal
loops open at the far corner. I just did a quick check and found an
interesting site with some history and mentions free design software at

Sadly the design software installer seems broken. I note the file is 1993
vintage and doesn't seem to live with Win98SE, at least not mine.

I drove the local HF TX station before and for a year after 1982 with 1100
foot long Rhombic's pointed at the UK. Superb take-off looking over the
south Atlantic. I used a spare 900 foot version occasionally for "other"
purposes. Seriously good antenna!

I have the CCITT handbook on antenna arrays with a lot of info on the
Rhombic family. Contrary to the text on the web site it describes the
Rhombic as being the "Queen" of antenna's not the "King". What is the PC
equivelant I wonder, "above the salt"?

Regards,

Mike VP8NO
