Carter,
Can echo what Ron AC7AC has to say on the phone and speaker jacks.
Where did you take the output for your PSK31 decoder and is there audio when
you plug some headphones into the phone jack on the front panel?
This may give a clue if a switch is involved.
Same happened to myself running a decoder, when returning to normal no audio.
In my case I used the speaker jack and the switch contacts had insufficient
spring to return. Re-tensioning the speaker switch cleared the fault.
If however yours is none of these you will have to troubleshoot further.
Does the S meter indicate incoming signals? If it does it indicates your K2
is at least working up to the IF stages.
Method I would use to troubleshoot the fault would be to first remove any key
or microphone and inject a signal into the antenna input from a suitable
signal generator or XG1. Set the RF to maximum, the audio to about mid point and
adjust the K2 to give an indication on the S meter on the signal generator
frequency. I would work back from the speaker jack through the RF board to the
control board, preferably with an oscilloscope or some kind of audio/RF signal
tracer to find where the audio/signal was missing. As a last resort a pair of
headphones fed via an isolating capacitor of say 0.1uF could be used to limited
effect if used carefully in the audio stages.
There is a good section in the K2 Owners Manual, Appendix E pages 9 through
17 on signal tracing and voltage measurements if that level of troubleshooting
is needed.
