[Elecraft] K1 #1805 On the Air

After 3 months of toil, interruption, circuit sleuthing (say that fast),
dead ends, etc., this beginning kit builder has a completed K1.  It still
has a bug or two in it, but it works!  I have yet to make my first
contact on it, though I was on this afternoon.  All of you beginners out
there, if I can build one of these, so can you!  My bits of advice, for
troubleshooting:  1. Check your soldering joints several times   2.  You
may have a diode reversed, or an IC reversed, so look those over
carefully  3.  Ask for help - Gary and Scott are there to help you at
Elecraft, and so are the 'Builders for Hire' - talk with them too!  My K1
arrived Feb. 13, so it took me a little over 3 months to finish it.   My
thanks to Gary and Scott, and also Jerry, wa2dkg, whose help down the
home stretch was invaluable.  I hope to hear many of you on the air,
especially you beginnners at all this!
