[Elecraft] K2 fixed audio output interest query

Folks,

I have had a several requests from folks when I build their K2 to add a
fixed audio output (just audio with no extra frills), and I have implemented
a couple on perfboard.

I am now considering offering a PC version as a kit, but I would like to
know how much interest there is so I can decide how to handle it.

The circuit I am using consists of an LM386, requires 6 wires (4 to the back
of the control panel and 2 to your choice of output location) and has a pot
to adjust the fixed output level. The maximum output is 3 volts peak to
peak which should be adequate to drive a computer sound card or a tape
recorder, etc. The board is 1 1/8 inch square and mounts on the K2 left
side panel. The output can be either to a jack on the rear panel or to the
microphone header. There are no frills like PSK31 interface stuff, just
plain fixed level audio that is independent of the AF gain control setting.

I figure I can kit this and ship it in the US by priority mail for about
$17.50 if there is sufficient interest for a run of 50 units or more.

If you would be interested in a kit like this one, please send me a note
direct (keep reflector traffic down). It could be available in a month or
so.

Don W3FPR
