Of course, the selection of an appropriate rig seldom hinges on just one
characteristic.  The KX1 has strong points in its favor too, the main one
being the stability of the DDS, followed by it being a lot smaller and
lighter than the K1, and its display is illuminated.  The SW band coverage
and the selectable receiver sideand modes are very nice features too.

But the feature that you pointed out was the most important to me...the K1
has 15m (or 17m) coverage.
