[Elecraft] Trouble With Torroids

After I wind a core, I dress the ends of the enameled wire straight down
along the side of the core, and then start stripping the enamel a bit below
the point where the wire first touches the core.

I prefer to strip with a sharp narrow Xacto knife blade, from that point
toward the end of the wire.
That way, I do not run the risk of having stripped wire lay against a core.

Usually, you can see how much lead away from core to the mounting hole pad
you will need, and strip only the sections that needs to be tinned and
soldered onto the pad.
