Well, yes and no.  The powdered iron cores in
various colors don't conduct.  The gray ferrite
cores do conduct, but not very much.  I wound
most of mine real neat and tight.  Doing that
on the ferrites scraped off the insulation
between the wire and the core.  A little shunt
resistance doesn't seem to matter in most of
those circuits.  I wound the bi-filar toroids
not so tight, but didn't redo the others.
The only place I've seen a note on not winding
too tight was for the DC negative power supply
on the serial port kit for the K2.
