[Elecraft] My KXPD1 Paddle

I was initially unimpressed with the unusual design of my KX1's KXPD1
paddle, and wondered who designed it. I decided to build my own paddle,
using a design I came up with several years ago and really like, that would
fit on the front of my KX1, so built it, and was well satisfied. Just before
putting the KXPD1 up for sale on the email list though, I decided to use it
for a while, just for fun, and to make absolutely sure I wanted to sell it.

Well.... it didn't take me long to realize my mistake and to become a fan of
this little paddle! I'm very thankful I didn't sell it. It's durable, the
rubber doesn't shift after extended use, as I expected, and although I
didn't think I liked the feel of the soft rubber, I now prefer it. In fact,
I'm going to build a base so I can use it with my other rigs. Maybe that
would be something to put on the Elecraft "wish list"? An "official"
Elecraft base, or brackets to mount it to the K1 & K2?

One thing I did do with mine is put a layer of electrical tape on the face.
It was beginning to slightly mar the surface of my KX1, plus I think the
tape helps it not to twist.
