In addition to Don's excellent app notes for adjusting SSB filters, I agree 
that the final adjustment for TX SSB settings of BF1t on USB and then LSB 
should be made while listening to your signal on another radio. That's how I 
do it.

Its best to record the other radio's RX or to have a second person listen to 
you on the air as its difficult to judge your audio quality accurately when 
listening to the radio at the same time you are talking.

100-200 Hz difference in the OPT1 filter's BF1t settings can make a HUGE 
difference in transmit audio quality. Also remember that USB and LSB BF1t 
settings are independent.
