I believe that this has been the reason. In some cases the ps, and there
has been
some heavy standard ones, had been placed very near to some radios and
w/o
comments the ops may have thought that all is fine.
Don`t forget that about 10 members never has been working with a K2
before and
hasn`t been aware of such a possible problem (which some other brands
have too).

By the way, because of the little problem Greg mentioned (damage during
transit),
we did not use the K2s on digi mode. It has been necessary to replace
these K2`s
with those which has been dedicated for the digimodes.
N6TQS our digi guru hasnt been happy about now fighting with spare
radios of less quality, hi.

Otherwise I can confirm Gregs statement. The K2`s worked very fine and
mostly
only one shift has been needed to convince members w/o any prior K2
experience.
For me it has been the second trip with K2s under hot climates, rough
travel/handling
and big pile-ups. And they will be again my first choice on a new trip.
