John,
I have two K2's, one QRP and the other QRO (K2/100) . I also have a 
Kenwood TS-850SAT and a Drake C line. Since building the KPA 100 watt 
amp I never use the other rigs anymore.
The K2 receiver is unequaled and the KPA100 makes all the difference to 
making successful QSO's.
Incidentaly I operate 99% SSB mode so naturaly I have the KSB2 options 
in both K2's.
I must admit that the KPA100 is not nearly so important if one only 
operates CW mode.
Go for the the KSB2 & KPA100 options, you will not regret the additions.
