[Elecraft] KX1 transmit problem

I recently posted a message concerning  a raspy sound on 20 meter =
transmit with my new KX1, while listening on my K2.  At the suggestion =
of another list member, I listened with a different receiver.  I used my =
Sierra and the note was clean.  I was using a small gel cell to power my =
Sierra.  When I used the same battery to power my K2, the note sounded =
clean also.  If I power the KX1 and either receiver from the same power =
source (a rig runner powered by a large battery) the transmit note =
sounds raspy on 20 meters, but not on 40 meters.  Do I have a problem =
