[Elecraft] Resend: K2 Addons - now or later?

Hi, Ron:

Your first message made it as well. It sounds like you didn't get any
responses though. I skipped over it because I do NOT have all the =
modules,
but I'll give you my impressions based on my K2.=20

The design of the K2 allows you to add modules with a minimum of fuss =
and
bother, so I believe the sequence should be driven by what you want the =
K2.
As far as I know, there simply aren't any "technical" issues that would =
make
one order better than another.=20

In my K2/100, which has the noise blanker, KPA100 amp, 160 meter option,
noise blanker, and SSB modules, there was no fuss or bother or trace =
cutting
involved in adding the modules. (I did cut some traces but that was =
because
I have an EARLY K2 that pre-dates the current volume control circuit and =
cut
traces reworking the main board for the new circuit).

As far as I know, all the modules simply plug in. Sometimes you need to
remove some jumpers on the existing board(s) so that the signal is =
routed
through the module you are adding. In one case that is a fixed cap =
rather
than a jumper.=20

The only advantage to buying the modules at the same time as the basic =
K2 is
that you can install the appropriate jacks for the modules on the main =
board
as you go, but again installing those jacks is a very simple job to do =
on a
completed K2.

-----Original Message-----

I'm not sure if the mail outage gobbled up my question or not, so I'm=20
resending:
-----
I'm looking to build, at minimum, a K2 with KSB2, and add, over time,=20
the K160RX, KNB2, KDSP2, KIO2, KAT2, K60XV, and KBT2.

My question is: which of these addons does it make more sense=20
TECHNICALLY to build in from the start? ...
