Jim,
When re-calibrating the reference, let things stabilize. That means to
configure your K2 the way you will operate it - in your case, KPA installed.
Let it warm up for at least an hour.
Remove the KPA100 cover and quickly calibrate the reference oscillator.
Then replace the KPA100 and run CAL PLL and CAL FIL. Yes, it is a bit of
trouble to button things up each time after changing the probe, but it will
make a difference.
