[Elecraft] K2 keying Modification?

Hello elecrafters,
now that the new Firmware and Keying modification kit has arrived
here, i am about to install the new parts.
Long time ago, i made changes to the qsk-performance as suggested in

  http://www.qsl.net/ve3mcf/elecraft_reflect/K2_QSK_Notes.txt  .

(add a 1 meg resistor across the existing 3.3meg)


Do I have to remove this resistor
or can i leave it just as it is?
