[Elecraft] K2 #4115 transmitter oscillation

I've been trying to track down what I took to be oscillation in my K2.  
In the process, R50 at the emitter of driver Q6 opened up.  Well the 
manual warns about that.  My local Radio Shack didn't have anything 
close, so I'm stuck til I can get a replacement.

In the meantime I thought I would start setting up the filters and 
learning my way around the menus.  In the process I discovered that 
when I go into spot to zero beat a received signal, the receive audio 
distorts badly.  It sounds similar to the distortion I hear on transmit 
when listening on another receiver.  That led me to take a careful look 
on the control board around U8 and U10.  On first look I don't see 
anything amiss.  Tomorrow I'll do some resistance and voltage checks in 
that area.

I'm wondering if that rings a bell with anyone.
