[Elecraft] sigmoidal keying mod

G'day,

: it has turned out to be caused by the VCO voltage. The manual says,
"The
: higher all the VCO voltages the better, as long as they don't exceed 7.5
: volts."
:
: That is not true. Gary says if the VCO voltage at 7.300 is above 5.5
volts,
: it can not fall fast enough for this new keying and a short chirp on 40
: meters is the result. Mine was 6.25 volts. He recommended I adjust
4.000
: mhz VCO voltage to 6.0 volts which I did. That led to a 7.300 voltage
of
: 4.96 volts.
:
: with this adjustment the very short whoop is gone. Also, much of the
: clackity sounds with the sidetone have disappeared.

Very interesting. I smell a builder alert.
