Hi Eddy,
This is an evolutionary step in the KPA100's design. Combined with the shielding
changes, we found that the improvements were great enough to allow the 1.5:1 SWR
rollback level to be relaxed a bit. This might be useful for some operators.
Also, the original KPA100 design was not compatible with operation on 60 meters.
With the new changes in place you can use the KPA100 on this band (this subject
will be covered in the K60XV manual).
So, while there's no imperative to make the changes, they are recommended to
keep your KPA100 current, and will be necessary if you plan to use more than 15
watts on 60 meters.
