[Elecraft] TNC of choice

I am using both an MFJ1278B controller and a software solution with a
soundcard (gMFSK for Linux). In demodulating RTTY signals gMFSK is vastly
superior to the hardware solution, even if I use a DSP filter in front
(Timewave 599plus). And gMFSK has the added MFSK, THROB, PSK31 and HELL
capabilities.

If you want to connect to Winlink (the reason why I have the MFJ) I suggest
you have a look at the PTCIIe, which supports pactor 2. As far as I know
there is no software solution for pactor 2 yet. I am rather disappointed with
pactor 1, but that may be because of the weak decoder (2211) in the MFJ box.

Hope this helps.
