I just finished building KX-1. I installed the KXAT1 and in my haste to see if it worked, I made all connections: ant, earbuds and key.I powered the little guy up and I saw a momentary display and then nothing, no smoke either. I disconnected everything except the ant and powered it up again. This time there was a good steady display. In my "haste" I had plugged the buds into the key jack! Too many wires and cables lying around and maybe a little too much "haste"....I'll have to tell ya'll about the Original KXAT1, that I soldered ALL of the relays onto the wrong side of the pcb, sometime.....but that's another story and $79!! There's a saying about "haste", but I don't remember it and I don't have time to research it now....
