[Elecraft] Dead Mice and the EQP

Somehow during the frenzy of QSO's in the EQP today, I found time to
rewire my long dead Belkin three button
mouse as a paddle. I cut the traces from around the pads for the three
switches and cable connector, and ran
two short lengths of Teflon wire-wrap wire from the left and right
switches to the connector pads. For the middle
button, I connected the cathodes of two 1N4148 diodes to its pad and ran
the anodes to the other two switches.
On the K2, this gives me key-down when the middle button is pushed.
Replaced the PS2 plug with an 1/8" phone plug and had it ready for the
K2. Don't think the project slowed my QSO rate at all. :-) Some of
you may have heard my pathetic CW on 40M as I tried to learn to send on
it...
Question: Does anyone know if a standard has been agreed upon for which
button sends dits and which sends
dahs? Right now, I'm wired to send dits on the left switch and dahs on
the right, but not sure if it feels right.
