Determine where the ground path from the tip to ground is broken.

1. Use a VOM to check continuity of your soldering station.

2. For the soldering iron (TC201) mesure for continuity between the tip and the ground pin on the TC201T iron's plug.

3. With the WTCPT base unit unplugged from AC voltage, measure the continuity between the AC plug's ground (round pin) to the ground pin on the front socket(where the soldering iron is plugged into) fo the base unit.

IF all of these check properly,

THEN -

Check for proper coenction of soldering iron plug to the base station socket.

Determine if you have ground at your local AC outlet.  Cheap testers for consumers are available at Home Depot/Lowe's.  IF this requires repair - contact a licensed electrican for resolution.
