I cast my vote for an auto space function.

In the shack (as shown in current issue of WorlRadio.
HI!)I use the excellent Logikey CMOS-4 keyer. I had
been using the keyers in my rigs but found that
differences in timing between those keyers would trip
up my sending, the keyer in the FT1000MP being the
worst. When I got the CMOS-4 keyer I started using its
auto-space feature. At first, it was a bit tricky and
would trip me up but that was due to my character
spacing being uneven. However, after using it a
while, it improved my sending and I found I could
switch auto-space on or off and not be able to tell
the difference. I have a number of little keyers
(including the NorCal 2003 Pacifion give-away keyer)
that include auto-space and generely use it if the
keyer has it.

I do find that with slower code, below 23 wpm or so, I
have to concentrate more on sending or auto-space will
trip me up. That's good because it forces me to send
better code.
