Forgive me for suggesting this, but one of the most common problems that
yields the result you are seeing is correct pin to pin wiring on pins 2 and
3 of the DB9s. From the manual it does not appear one should use a null
modem cable, but if your computer for some strange reason ( I have seen SIO
cards in PCs with both DCE and DTE configurations) is not matching up you
could try to rotate pin 2 and 3 at one end of the cable only and see if that
helps.
