Just a note ....
In doing this calibration I used Spectrogram as an aid. The setup for
Spectrogram was:
1) Scope 1
2) High Band 2500
3) Low Band 20
WWV's format broadcast two tones on a programmed schedule, 400hz and 500hz.
I watched for the minute pulse which is always 1000hz and walked this signal
on to the 1000hz grid marker by tuning the K2. I read and recorded the
displayed frequency on the K2 (I was high some .32khz), checked the VCO
frequency and adjusted C22 to lower the displayed frequency .32khz. Piece of
cake. Dead on.
I know Spectrogram is hardly a lab standard but it is certainly better than
my sense of tonal frequency. I was able to see not only WWV's minute pulse
but the band was open to Hiwaii, there was WWVH's minute pulse at 1200hz.
Both stations are phase locked so there is no hetrodyning of the two
carriers or the generated tones.
