[Elecraft] KX1 Question - U1

David,

Each pin of U1 should go all the way down to the shoulders. While
constructing my KX1 I at first was unable to insert U1 completely.
Alternating pressure from one side of the chip to the other was the way
I got mine to go in fully. Make sure you don't short the pins with
static electricity while straightening them out before installation. A
replacement U1 was needed to get my rig to work. I must have shorted the
first chip by not being careful enough.
Good luck and let me know how you do.
