[Elecraft] intermittant grunge noise on newly built KX1?

I've recently completed building my new KX1 and am experiencing a small 
problem.  Seems that every 10 minutes or so there is a noise that I think is 
being internally generated from the MCU.  It's a series of digital beeps 
that are about as loud as the recevied signals but have a very rough sound 
to them.  This noise sounds exactly alike each time it occurs.

Anyone else having this problem or have advice?
