[Elecraft] K1 switches - soldering the pins

Hi Kevin:
This is normal. I'm presently in the process of building my second K1, SN#
1806. The pushbutton switches are the same on the K2's. Don't be alarmed
they will make contact as soon as you solder them. If the solder does not
flow all the way through and you are not comfortable after you solder them
you can always very carefully solder them on the top side of the board I
have a small rechargeable IsoTip pencil iron that has a very fine tip that I
only use when I need to get in real tight places. It allows me to get in
close with out damaging anything. I also use a 3.5 x snap on lens in front
of my glasses, otherwise I couldn't begin to read the parts values or be
precise enough with my soldering.

Do make sure you install a jumper wire at RFC8 or else the (100 uh choke if
your building one of the filter bands for 80 meters) otherwise when you get
to the bottom of page 30 you will not get the correct voltage readings at
the (4) Test Points at P1 and U3. See the errata sheet, note #2 (This can
throw you off if you don't install the jumper or the choke at RFC8.

Good Building my Friend! 73, Don / WA9TGT
