[Elecraft] K2: A/B button doesn't change mode, just frequency ?

Hi-
     K2/100: Has anyone run into this condition where when changing 
within a band segment, like from the CW band end to a higher in the band 
USB frequency- the mode does not change the last mode used?
    Recently developed this problem. No other difficulties, the rig has 
worked flawlessly for 2 plus years.
    Clues, suggestions welcome.
