[Elecraft] 20m Vertical on roof

Thanks for the reply Bill to this little off freq query. I think I'll mount
the vertical at the other end of the roof  which is well away from the
neighbours antenna but involves a bit more metalwork on my part. I could
put it down the end of the garden but wont be able to get it so high and it
would be very close to some large trees. Thanks again.

BTW here in the UK many of us live in what we call  a "semi-detached" house
which is built as one large house with a centre dividing wall. Consequently
the roof is shared as is the old chimney stack (for pre-war houses) which
is built on top of the dividing wall and is the one convenient and highest
place for mounting antennas. Trouble is the TV antennas for both sided of
the house are always there too.

Yes.

Remember that the field intensity varies as the square of the distance.
Place the antenna 4 feet away, and you'll reduce the interference
fourfold.

I'm just curious that your neighbor's TV antenna is only 2 feet away
from you house.
