[Elecraft] K2/100 and KAT100 odd behavior

Hi Joe. Prior to the K2, I always used a power mosfet to key the amp.
However, with the K2 I directly connected the key output on the K2 to the
key IN on the Acom. This seemed to work quite well during the CQWW CQ Test.
The K2 doesn't have fast QSK, so I wouldn't expect a problem with this
setup.
For keying from the PC/Laptop, I use the setup as on page 92 of the K2
manual. This way I can independently select keying speed from the keyboard
and the internal keyer on the K2.
Which Acom's you going to be using, the 1000's or 2000's? I put my 2000
through the paces at V26B a few years back. It worked great. Also got to
play with a 1000 down there. It was an easy amp to set up and operate.
Considering getting a 1000 as a backup and to use on 6M, if I ever get my
transverter working.

Hi Tony,
Would you please comment on your CW keying lines using the K2 with the Acom
amp? On dxpedition to T33 we will have 6 K2s driving 6 Acom amps. I have
made up some keying lines to use with CT contest software. A keying line
from the laptop goes to Acom key-in and then from Acom key-out a keying line
goes to K2 key-in. Is this your keying arrangement and if so, are there any
timing problems to be aware of in running QSK? Thanks.
