Hi Simon:

Great job on your K2 !!  Comparing the K2 to the FT-847 is not a fair 
fight - the K2 will win every time.  I own both of these - as does my 
friend Steve KQ4UB.  I took my K2 over to his QTH one evening and 
hooked it up to his Force 12 5BA and with 5 watts, easily worked the 
Pacific Isl. and broke pileups. This started to whet Steve's appetite 
and he is now building and testing his KX-1 and will be building his K2 
soon.  The FT-847 is a great rig for satellite work and with the Inrad 
filters somewhat makes it a fairer fight - but the K2 still wins.
