[Elecraft] KX-1 Alignment & Test Part 1 Discrepancy: Need Help

Hi all:  All part one tests pass perfectly.  However there is a discrepancy
in one thing the manual says vs. what my KX-1 is doing.  On page 29, left
column, 4th step:  "As you rotate the knob, the timeout period is flashed...
for 10 seconds".  In my case, the timeout period increments, but the display
returns to "L  3" --- the LED brightness setting.   I suspect this is
correct, and that the manual wording is confusing me.  Can anyone verify
that this is ok?
